MEROPENEM-1mg
Meropenem is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic. It is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Meropenem exerts its action by penetrating bacterial cells readily and interfering with the synthesis of vital cell wall components, which leads to cell death.
Meropenem is used to treat the following infections :
- Complicated skin and skin structure infections (adult patients and pediatric patients 3 months of age and older only).
- Complicated intra-abdominal infections (adult and pediatric patients).
Bacterial meningitis (pediatric patients 3 months of age and older only). - severe infections of the skin, lungs, stomach, urinary tract, blood, and brain (eg. meningitis). It works by killing the bacteria that cause these problems. However, it will not treat a viral infection.
