ARIMIDEX (Anastrozole)-1mg
ARIMIDEX (Anastrozole) is a nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor, it lowers estrogen levels in postmenopausal women, which may slow the growth of certain types of breast tumors that need estrogen to grow in the body. Tumor cells dependent on estrogens grow less when there is no estrogen.
It is used to treat:
- Postmenopausal women diagnosed with hormone-receptor-positive, early-stage breast cancer after surgery (or possibly chemotherapy and radiation) to reduce the risk of cancer coming back.
- Postmenopausal women diagnosed with advanced-stage or metastatic hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer.
