INFIMAB (Infliximab) is a recombinant chimeric human-murine IgG1, monoclonal antibody, which binds to both soluble and trans membrane forms of the human tumor necrosis factor (TNF)a and inhibits the functional activity of TNFa. It works by blocking the actions of a certain natural substance (tumor necrosis factor alpha) in the body. This helps to decrease swelling (inflammation) and weaken your immune system, which slows or stops the damage from the disease.
